Help us Celebrate the People Who Keep the Clinic Running

Healthcare is personal. It’s built on trust, consistency, and people who care—not just in the exam room, but in every part of the experience.
At the Boca Grande Health Clinic, we’re fortunate to have an administrative team that lives those values every day. With National Administrative Professionals’ Day coming up on April 23, we’re taking a moment to recognize three essential team members who work behind the scenes to ensure everything in front runs smoothly.
“From the first call to the final follow-up, this team ensures that every experience at the Clinic is organized, thoughtful, and personalized,” said Mark Driscoll, Boca Grande Health Clinic CEO. “Their dedication makes the Clinic a place where patients feel valued and well cared for.”
Jonna Foos
Always in Motion—On the Job and at Home
With nearly a decade of experience at the Clinic, Jonna keeps all the moving parts moving—coordinating schedules, resources, and support so that patients receive the timely, personal care they’ve come to expect.
“I recently took up the sport of golf or I should say, I’m trying to take up the sport of golf. Beginner is an understatement.
In my time away from work, I’m a busy mom of four. I spend most of my spare time in my car at their various activities, sports practices and tournaments. When I’m not carpooling, doing laundry, or cleaning house, I enjoy reading, beaching, puzzling, painting, pruning all my orchid and plant “friends,” and spending time with family and my fur babies.
I enjoy traveling with my family to new destinations. I like to think I haven’t explored my favorite place yet. My most memorable family trip thus far has been to Montana. We started in White Fish and traveled down to Big Sky. We were able to explore Glacier National Park and Yellowstone, but my favorite part of the trip was our small rental house on White Fish Lake and the super chilly swims. That water was so cold for us Floridians.
I’m looking forward to the “season” ending when summers for the Foos family are much more manageable. Not only do the activities and sports break, but both my husband’s work and mine slows down, and we get to enjoy some time away and “off”—as much as “off” can be with four kiddos.”
Kelsey Chavarria
Explorer at Heart, On Land and Sea
Kelsey brings focus and calm to a fast-paced environment. Whether managing financial tasks or supporting clinical workflows, she helps keep operations efficient and patient centered.
“I love diving for lobsters on the east coast of Florida and searching for Megalodon teeth and ancient fossils in Florida’s Peace River. Exploring underwater worlds and uncovering pieces of history fuels my passion for adventure.
I’m a dedicated long-distance runner who frequently participates in 5Ks and recently completed a half marathon. Running is not just a sport for me—it’s a way to challenge myself and stay grounded.
One of my favorite creative hobbies is gyotaku, the traditional Japanese art of fish printing. I love making prints of our best catches, turning them into lasting memories and unique works of art.
As a dual citizen of the U.S. and Costa Rica, I have a deep connection to nature, culture, and the outdoors. My love for Costa Rica’s rich biodiversity and “Pura Vida” lifestyle inspires my adventurous lifestyle here in Florida.”
Cara Onofrio
Rooted in Boca Grande, Growing Every Day
Cara is often the first point of contact for patients. Her warmth, attention to detail, and island roots help create the welcoming atmosphere we’re known for.
“I am currently in school to complete my bachelor’s degree in health administration (which should be completed in the Spring of 2026).
I went to the Boca Grande Preschool when it first started 35 years ago, and my daughter currently attends the same preschool (there was no island school yet when I was a kid).
I am a sixth-generation native of Boca Grande, my daughter is seventh generation, being raised locally as well.
I like to work in the garden/dig in the dirt in my spare time and enjoy planting and tending to my fruit trees.”
They’re not just the people who keep the Clinic running—they’re individuals with energy, creativity, and rich lives outside of work.
We asked Jonna, Kelsey, and Cara to share a few fun facts about themselves so you can get to know them beyond their Clinic roles. Whether it’s diving for fossils, managing a full slate of family activities and sports, or tending to tropical fruit trees, their lives outside the Clinic are every bit as vibrant as the work they do inside it.
