Celebrating Doctor’s Day: The Heartbeat of the Boca Grande Health Clinic
March 30th marks a special day on our calendar – Doctor’s Day! It’s a time to honor those who dedicate their lives to caring for us. At the Boca Grande Health Clinic, it’s the extraordinary team of board-certified physicians – Dr. Raymond A. James, our Medical Director; Dr. Bret Kueber, the Assistant Medical Director; and Dr. Emily Haly. I want to share a glimpse into what makes them the heartbeat of our clinic.
Dr. Raymond A. James – A leader in emergency care
First up is Dr. Raymond A. James, D.O., our Medical Director, and a leader through and through. He’s worked in medicine for over two decades and has a broad medical background, including a 10-year stint directing the ER at Englewood Community Hospital. In addition to his duties at the Clinic, he also founded an off-island clinic offering free medical care to those in need. Board-certified in emergency medicine, he brings an invaluable ER background that benefits our patients daily.
Dr. Bret Kueber – A healthcare innovator
Then there’s Dr. Bret Kueber, M.D. With a dual foundation in aeronautical engineering and medicine, he sees healthcare as a complex aircraft, every part working in perfect sync. Coupled with his training with the Cleveland Clinic, he offers logical and innovative approaches to patient flow and practice management that enhance our ability to deliver efficient, patient-centered service.
Dr. Emily Haly – An extraordinary provider
Last, but certainly not least, is Dr. Emily Haly, M.D., our star in internal medicine. Dr. Haly’s got the kind of experience that spans from hospitals to outpatient care to virtual care, making her a true jack-of-all-trades in the medical world and an incredible asset to the Clinic. Her medical licensure across multiple states is not just a testament to her skill but also to her dedication to following and caring for her patients wherever they might be.
A Commitment to Continuous Improvement
We have a healthcare team that stands out for its blend of sophisticated medical knowledge and warm, personalized care that allows us to serve patients from age 1 to 100+. They work tirelessly for our patients, not just in fulfilling their required continuing medical education, but in pursuing additional learning opportunities to offer services and care that go above and beyond.
I am grateful to our doctors, and every person on our team, for putting quality first and always pushing themselves to learn, grow, and improve.
Preparing for Tomorrow’s Healthcare Needs
We are now in year three of a 5-year strategic improvement plan to have the people, the resources, the equipment and the facilities to provide outstanding care – The Clinic of the Future. Our physicians’ firsthand knowledge of our patients’ needs is what makes the blueprint of our future facilities truly patient-centric, ensuring that our services, technology and resources align with the specific demands and expectations of the Boca Grande community.
This vision is not merely an upgrade; it’s an essential progression as we prepare to meet the healthcare demands of tomorrow. The Clinic of the Future will bring enhanced diagnostic imaging, expanded lab services, and advanced physical, rehabilitation and occupational therapy options – all on-island, while maintaining what make the Clinic unique: same-day appointments, a friendly voice answering all calls, 24/7 access to a physician and long appointments with physicians who understand your care needs and treat you like family that make the Boca Grande Health Clinic a community asset.
I am excited for what lies ahead. Our mission has always been to deliver high-quality, personalized care to the Island’s residents and workers. This commitment guides us today and will continue to do so into the future.
Help us make the day special
I truly believe we have the finest care and support team in the Clinic’s 76-history. As we celebrate Doctor’s Day, let’s honor the dedication of our doctors and staff, who live our mission every day. If you’d like to express your gratitude to Dr. Raymond James, Dr. Bret Kueber and Dr. Emily Haly, please share your message with us by visiting our tribute page.
