An even better care experience is coming to Boca Grande

We’re excited to share that the Boca Grande Health Clinic is adopting Epic, a top-tier electronic health record system, to make your healthcare experience even better. This new technology will help us manage patient information even more efficiently, ensuring you get the best care possible.

We’ve done our research and there’s no better choice than Epic. It’s used by some of the best hospitals and health systems in the U.S., including Johns Hopkins, Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic. More than 250 national healthcare organizations prefer the Epic, which speaks volumes about its reliability and effectiveness. Locally, Tampa General Hospital and Lee Memorial Health System use Epic.

A big advantage is better care coordination.

Our care team will be able to view a single, unified record of all your patient data from any organization that uses Epic. This means they can see a fuller picture of your medical history, including medications, allergies and test results all in one place, making it easier to make informed decisions and create personalized treatment plans for you.

In addition, Epic automates many routine tasks. “This frees our doctors to spend more time with patients and less time on administrative work,” said Mark Driscoll, Boca Grande Health Clinic CEO. “Plus, Epic’s information sharing capabilities can help enhance communication between our doctors and specialists and our doctors and patients.”

With Epic, some great benefits are coming your way.

Nowadays, patients want instant access to their health information wherever they are. Epic provides easy and secure mobile access to health data for patients through the MyChart patient portal that comes with Epic. This user-friendly tool lets you access your medical records, view lab results and communicate with your care team anytime, anywhere. Many Clinic patients may already be familiar with Epic’s MyChart and use it with their providers back home.

Preparation for Epic is underway this summer as the clinical team and staff get fully up to speed on how the system works and begin to migrate patient data from the old electronic medical record system into Epic. “We’re doing our best to be ready for when patients return to the Island for the next season,” said Driscoll.

Bringing Epic on board is a big step forward in our mission to provide personalized primary and urgent healthcare to Gasparilla Island residents and workers.

“With the implementation of Epic, even more of our time, energy and effort can go toward caring for our patients and moving our organization into the future”

Mark Driscoll, Boca Grande Health Clinic CEO

Upgrading to Epic is just one of many improvements planned as part of the Clinic of the Future.

We expect to begin construction of a new clinic building in April 2025. With enhanced diagnostic imaging, expanded lab services and advanced physical and rehabilitation therapy options, all within state-of-the-art facilities that address the growing need for on-island primary care and convenience for our community, the new clinic will be a huge step forward in improving healthcare on the Island.

We can’t wait to continue serving you with the excellence and care you deserve.
