A Quick Clinic Update Post-Milton

As everyone following news of Hurricane Milton knows, Boca Grande was under mandatory evacuation prior to the storm’s arrival. Access to the island is limited to first responders. The Clinic works closely with the fire department and Lee County, and we are following periodic updates that are provided as situations allow.

Here is a quick summary of we know:

  • The island sustained significant damage from Hurricane Milton. Most of the Island is still inaccessible.
  • We also have no power, land line phone or cellular.
  • The bridges in the causeway have been inspected and are safe, but again, access is limited to official business.
  • Sewer and water systems have been compromised and the main water line to the island will require extensive repairs that could take many weeks to complete.
  • Roads remain flooded, including Gasparilla Road and many roads are impassible.

We do not have a full report on the condition of the Clinic, but a physician remains available by phone. Call 941-964-2276 and follow the instructions for after-hours care.

Best regards,

Mark Driscoll, CEO
