FAQs

Q: What is MyChart?

A: MyChart is a simple, secure way to access your medical records, track your health, view test results, and stay connected with your care team anytime, anywhere.

Q: How do I sign up for MyChart?

A: Signing up for MyChart by Epic is quick and easy.

  1. Create a MyChart account using the activation code plus your name, zip code, and your date of birth. Then you will create a username and password, confirm your email address, and read and accept the terms and conditions.
  2. Get an activation link at your appointment or request a code from the Clinic.
  3. Click your personalized activation link or download the mobile app and select Tampa General Hospital.

Q: Is MyChart safe to use?

A: Yes, your privacy is our priority. MyChart uses strong security measures to keep your information safe. Access to information is controlled through secure activation codes, personal usernames and passwords. Two-step verification is used for increased security.

Q: Can I link my MyChart account with other healthcare providers?

A: Yes, if your other healthcare providers also use Epic, you can easily link your MyChart accounts. This allows you to view and manage your health information from multiple providers all in one place, giving you a complete picture of your medical history and care.

Q: Can I use MyChart on my phone?

A: Yes! Download the MyChart app for iPhone or Android, and you can manage your health on the go.

Q: What if I need help setting up MyChart?

A: We’re here to help. Call us at 941-964-2276 or stop by the clinic, and we’ll walk you through it.

Q: Does MyChart mean that Boca Grande Health Clinic is affiliated with Tampa General Hospital?

A: No, Boca Grande Health Clinic is not affiliated with Tampa General Hospital. We remain an independent clinic and continue to work with and refer to local, regional and national healthcare organizations based on your preferences. MyChart is provided through our strategic alliance with Tampa General to enhance your access to healthcare information, but it does not change our clinic’s independent status.

Q: Will I be able to make a Clinic appointment through MyChart?

A: We know how much our patients value the personal touch we provide at the Clinic and the ability to call the Clinic for same-day appointments. Because of that, we will not be “turning on” the online appointment scheduling feature in MyChart.

Q: I already have a MyChart account with Tampa General Hospital. Do I need another one for the Clinic?

A: No, if you already have a MyChart account with TGH, you will not need to create a new one.

Q: I already have a MyChart account with a different provider. Why do I need to sign up again?

A: You will need to have a MyChart account with Boca Grande Health Clinic as well as with any other providers using MyChart. While we appreciate that it’s “one more thing to do,” taking a few minutes now to set up your MyChart account will save you time when you visit the Clinic for an appointment. You can also link your MyChart accounts, allowing you to share your healthcare accounts with all of your providers who utilize Epic.

Q: What happens if I don’t sign up?

A: If you have not signed up for MyChart before your appointment, when you arrive, a member of our team will give you an activation link and help create your account. This will take a bit of time, so plan to arrive early. Or even better, sign up early!
