Raymond A. James, D.O.
Dr. James joined the Clinic in March 2018 and serves as Medical Director of the Clinic. A graduate of Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, he completed his residency at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is board certified in emergency medicine and has been awarded fellowship status by the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Throughout his medical career, Dr. James has held several leadership roles and has provided more than 21 years of volunteer service within his community. Prior to coming on staff at the Clinic, he served as the Director of Emergency Medicine Englewood Community Hospital for 10 years, and for 8 years as EMS Medical Director for Charlotte County. He also held the positions of Medical Director and Emergency Medicine Physician at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte. Dr. James is the founder and president of the Englewood Community Care Clinic, a provider of free medical care to people who are unable to afford health insurance.
