The New Boca Grande Health Clinic

State-of-the-art CT at the new Clinic

The new Boca Grande Health Clinic welcomed its first patients on May 19, 2026, bringing expanded care, new technology, and familiar faces together at 280 Park Avenue.

The new clinic is designed to feel welcoming and comfortable for patients, while offering advanced technology and medical capabilities that significantly expand care on the island..

Advanced imaging, including on-site CT, X-ray, and ultrasound, allows patients to receive diagnostic testing on the island — often the same day — rather than traveling off-island and waiting weeks for appointments. Expanded laboratory services further support that care, making it possible for many important tests to be performed right here on the island.

And there is more to come. Beginning later this summer 2026, the former clinic building will undergo major renovations to create dedicated space for physical, rehabilitation, and occupational therapy services, with modern equipment and a hydrotherapy pool so patients of all ages can receive therapy here on the island.

Clinic History

The official records show that the Boca Grande Health Clinic first opened its doors on March 15, 1947. The Clinic has a long history of community support, with many individuals contributing their time and resources to ensure that the Clinic was and still remains a reality for the community.

Louise Du Pont Crowninshield is credited with starting the Clinic. From 1949–1963 the Clinic occupied space it rented on the west side of the Fugate building. In 1964, a new clinic was built and used until it was replaced by the present facility in 1990. The 1964 building was renovated in 2008 for use as the Clinic Annex.
